A reputable gaming insider, Midori, has revealed the codename for a new Nintendo game currently in development by Monolith Soft, the creators of the Xenoblade Chronicles series. Known for being one of Nintendo's most valuable first-party studios, Monolith Soft has gained acclaim for the popular Xenoblade Chronicles RPG series. The developer has also contributed significantly to other Nintendo projects, notably optimizing "Tears of the Kingdom" to handle and run an open world, drawing from their extensive experience with the Xenoblade games.

The latest standalone release from Monolith Soft was Xenoblade Chronicles 3, along with its Future Redeemed DLC. With the conclusion of the Xenoblade trilogy, fans are curious about what the studio will tackle next, especially with rumors of a new iteration of the Nintendo Switch on the horizon.

Midori, known for accurate insights on various Nintendo and Sega projects, claims that Nintendo and Monolith Soft are collaborating on a new project. This information was shared on Midori's Twitter account in response to a query about potential Monolith Soft titles for the anticipated Switch 2 console. According to Midori, the new project is codenamed "Legacy." This sparked speculation among fans, with some guessing a possible Xenosaga remaster or remake. However, Midori clarified that "Legacy" is a Nintendo-published title and not associated with an external company, ruling out Xenosaga, which isn't owned by Nintendo.
