Final Fantasy 14 has released Patch 7.01, introducing the opening tier of the Arcadion raid series and implementing several Job balance updates and fixes. Among the Jobs that can now reach level 100, the Monk has received the most significant buffs and adjustments in response to player feedback.

Patch 7.01 was released two weeks after the launch of Dawntrail, the fifth expansion for Final Fantasy 14. Unlike Endwalker's release, which was plagued by login queue issues, Dawntrail's launch was relatively smooth. However, memory fragmentation bugs did affect Xbox Series X/S players during the first few days. As compensation for these issues, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida announced that all players would receive at least two days of game time, with Xbox players potentially receiving up to ten days.

In line with its tradition of periodic updates, Final Fantasy 14's Patch 7.01 addresses lingering bugs and provides new content for players. According to a Lodestone post, Patch 7.01 includes the release of the Arcadion, Dawntrail's 8-player raid series. Named the "AAC Light-Heavyweight" tier, the first four rounds of the Arcadion are now available on Normal difficulty. Instead of gear drops, armor tokens are awarded, which players can earn once per week and redeem for corresponding armor and accessories based on their Job and role.

The patch also introduces several Job balance updates. The Black Mage's Umbral Soul is now available from level 35, Tank enmity generation has been increased during area-of-effect combos, and cooldown adjustments have been made for Astrologian, Samurai, and Red Mage players.

The Monk, however, received the most significant updates. In response to player feedback, many of the Monk's skills have been buffed, making this melee DPS class more competitive. The Beast Chakra gauge has been streamlined, with adjustments to the stacks of Raptor's Fury and Coeurl's Fury.

Looking ahead, Patch 7.05, scheduled for release on July 30, will bring further adjustments to Jobs such as the Viper and the Black Mage.
